NAS gallery

The dynamic NAS Galleries program enhances the School’s role as a leading centre for visual art education in the Asia-Pacific. With ambitious group and solo exhibitions by Australian and international artists, the Galleries foster critical appreciation of art and innovative practice. Housed in a former cell block of the historic Darlinghurst Gaol, the NAS Gallery is one of Sydney’s most distinctive exhibition spaces.

Innovation, Drawing, and Special Projects

The NAS Galleries expanded in 2021 with the launch of a dedicated Drawing Gallery, created with the National Centre for Drawing to explore innovations in contemporary drawing. Special projects also feature in the Rayner Hoff Project Space. Each exhibition is accompanied by scholarly publications and engaging public programs that enrich understanding and appreciation of art.
